Software testing Interview tips for the beginners

Recently, I was interviewing candidates for junior software test engineer role and observed that most of candidates were underprepared. Mostly beginners does not have much idea about software testing and basic interview topics. Software testing is something which doesn't taught practically in the colleges so mostly candidates looks clueless. So I have created a basic video to cover "things you should take care if you are appearing for software testing interview". So here are the software testing interview tips for the beginners.

1. Resume
- Prepare your resume as per job description. It should be professional and all the details added in the resume should be relevant and correct. added this one minute short to learn basics about resume. 

2. Tell me about yourself

- Do not go to interview without preparing for this question. It is interview starter and if you have prepared well, it will give you bit confidence. Also this question can lead to interview the way you wanted. 

3. Manual Testing skills

- If you are fresher, just learn about basic software testing processes. Prepare core concepts for functional and non functional testing. Prepare for the software testing techniques. 
- have basic knowledge about bug trekking tools. 

4. Automation testing skills

- For beginners, you should be good with atleast one programming language. If you are 1-2 years of experienced, practice about trending software testing tools like selenium, playwright, cypress.

5. Other technical skills for more advantage

- DevTools 
- MySQL queries 
- Operating systems - Unix, Linux, Mac, Windows
- Software development Models like Agile. 

6. Good to have Non technical skills

- Communications skills
- Puzzle solving 
- Management skills
